
Bio:
Singer songwriter Melissa Baten began singing at the age of 7, including Indian classical training from Pandit Haridas Ganguly. She debuted on the Outcaste New Breeds album where she met Producer / Composer Niraj Chag, they have been collaborating ever since. She co-wrote and features on tracks from the 'Along the Dusty Road' album, most notably Bengali 'Khwaab' and 'Nomad' which became an iTunes 'single of the week' last summer.
Her other work includes writing for Britain's first ever Asian musical 'Baiju Bawra' and 'The Snow Queen' at the Theatre Royal Stratford East, as well as performances at the BBC Electric Proms and a Radio 1 Maida Vale session. Previous collaborations include releases with Chicane, and Mark Hill, the producer of Artful Dodger and Craig David. She continues her work on Niraj's forthcoming album.
